There are some great Unreal Engine racing games that will now be fully playable in VR when Praydog’s mod is released publicly. You mentioned wanting to see more racing games in VR. Upcoming Gravel VR Mod (Praydogs Universal UE VR Injector Mod) I used these examples because they are all games that don’t use motion controls and work almost identically to these official versions. Not only does this make it a great place for a modder to start working on a full mod with motion controls etc, but it makes most Unreal Engine games pretty awesome to play in VR right away! This could even be a powerful tool for developers to try out their game in VR and help them decide whether or not to do a full VR port.Īlso Read : The Global Aircraft Engine Nacelle Market is expected toĭownload a racing game like gravelfeels the same as playing the new racing game Unreal Engine, for example F1 2022 which has just been released (and which has its own official VR support) Ace Battle 7 feels like playing Microsoft flight simulator ever space 2 feels like playing Star Wars squadronsetc. Praydog’s mod automatically resolves all these common issues and correctly fixes them directly in the game engine for VR as they all use universal features. The VR camera often doesn’t follow the player character, so as you move the player you might see a headless body running away in the distance. For example, any UI designed to be laid over your monitor’s screen won’t even show up, or just sit at an odd angle on one eye. Typically when you enable basic VR on a flat Unreal Engine game with the VR plugins included (if it was still built in with them), a lot of has broken with experience. All you then have to do is launch the game and it will add all the engine’s native VR code back and launch the game in VR. The VR Injector is added to a game by simply dropping a few files into the game directory. Praydog’s VR Injector changes this limitation for Flat2VR modders. Larger AAA games however, like Fallen Jedi Order are already done and the developers have moved on and there is no easy way to create a new version of the game even if they wanted to with the VR code. For some of our Unreal Engine VR mods we asked the game developers and they kindly agreed to add the plugins in the shipping builds so we can create a full VR mod for the game ( MechWarrior 5 and Deep Rock Galactic with full motion control are two examples of how the developers are doing this for us). Unreal Engine, on the other hand, removes all VR code if a game is not built with the VR plugins still included. For example, the Unity engine always ships with the VR code in a flat game, and that code can be re-enabled and a modder can then start building VR mechanics beyond that using powerful Unity modding frameworks.Īlso Read : How to Unlock Huawei Phone Without Resetting – Tenorshare 4uKey for Android | National News This mod opens the door for VR enthusiasts to play tons of AAA games in VR (here’s just a list of a few) by making it easy to add initial VR support to games built with Unreal Engine.įor the longest time we have mainly limited ourselves to only adding full VR support with motion controls etc. Join the community on the Flat2VR Discord Praydog’s Universal Unreal Engine VR Injector Mod If you want to learn more about the Flat2VR modding community itself, read our last issue introducing ourselves, and if you want to get involved, visit the official Discord server.
